• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing ‘UniverseCity’ Varsity Jacket
1 Comment

For the last Turn Back Thursday of 2010, we take you back to the summer of 2008, just months before the release of 808s & Heartbreak, where Kanye West made a guest appearance at a Young Jeezy concert. At the show, Kanye wore  the ‘UniverseCity’ varsity jacket, appropriately named after his website at the time, Kanye UniverseCity. It was never determined  if it was a collaboration jacket with an existing brand or a piece from his now-defunct clothing line Pastelle, but it was most likely a 1-of-1 custom made varsity jacket just for Kanye. The ‘UniverseCity’ varsity jacket features a purple body, white satin sleeves, a green ‘U’ on the left-side chest, and a Takashi Murakami ‘Dropout Bear’ graphic on the back. In addition to the varsity jacket, Kanye is also spotted wearing Air Jordan Aqua 8s with a pair of khaki pants and purple Louis Vuitton ‘Millionaire’ sunglasses. • Pastelle (Past Tell Museum) Will Not Be Released
13 Comments

After photos of Kanye West’s clothing line Pastelle (Past Tell Museum) surfaced, High Snobiety quickly informed the public that Kanye’s clothing line will never be released. Although High Snobiety did not offer a source to the breaking news, it would almost be silly to discredit them because of their reputability. However, Kanye will apparently release an entirely new line under his own name that is set to release soon. Although tremendously disappointing, it finally ends all the years of anticipation.

See the photos below the logo of varsity jackets from Pastelle (Past Tell Museum) that would have been.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing San Francisco 49ers Varsity Jacket
4 Comments

If you’ve ever seen Kanye West’s ”Drive Slow” music video from 2006, you might notice that he’s wearing a red satin varsity jacket while riding in the passenger seat of a car passing through the bright Las Vegas lights. These days, you’ll seldom see him wear anything that dawns a team logo. However, if you look closely at this behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the music video shoot, you can see a hint of a logo on the left side of his jacket with letters that can assumed to be “SF”—the same “SF” of the famous San Francisco 49ers logo.

• Kamiakin Braves Letterman Jacket
19 Comments

It has been confirmed that the Kamiakin Braves letterman jacket Kanye West wore on BET and at a Los Angeles nightclub this past Thursday, originates from Kamiakin High School, located in Kennewick, WA. Now, how the jacket got into the hands of Kanye remains a mystery, but I’m sure there’s a plausible story behind it.

A notable from Kanye’s outfit was his varsity jacket, which consists of several patches on the right breast and the letter K on the left. On the back is a picture of an Indian Brave, along with lettering that reads Kamiakin Braves. Kanye also wore the white collaboartion sneakers he did with Louis Vuitton, while Kid Cudi wore the red pair.
