2 CommentsThe Watch The Throne tour brought Kanye West to New York this past week, where he also made an appearance at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. There, he performed on the runway wearing a Versace for H&M varsity jacket and black/pink Air Yeezy 2 shoes. The varsity jacket will be available at select H&M stores on November 19. No date has been confirmed yet for the Air Yeezy 2s. The fashion show will air on November 29 on CBS.

Kanye channeled a Thriller era M.J., wearing a red/yellow varsity jacket similar to the one from the “Thriller” music video and Jackson’s signature hat.

No matter the season, there’s a good chance you’ll find Yeezy rocking this classic outerwear piece in spite of what might be the latest fashion trend. For the June edition of Turn Back Thursday, we bring you back two years to 2009 where Kanye wore a Kamiakin Braves varsity jacket on BET. We never discovered how Kanye got his hands on this original varsity jacket that comes from Kamiakin High School in the city of Kennewick, but it appears to be in great condition and is a good look for both Kanye and the Braves.
• Turn Back Thursday: RRL ‘Tiger Head’ Varsity Jacket
2 CommentsThis month’s Turn Back Thursday takes us back to December 2008, just a month after the release of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak album. After seeing Kanye West wear the ‘Tiger Head’ varsity jacket from Polo Sport this past weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to dig through the archives and locate the other ‘Tiger Head’ varsity jacket that he’s worn. In this photo, the vintage varsity jacket is from Ralph Lauren’s RRL line, and a smaller version of the tiger head design is embroidered on the left side of the chest. Obviously, this ‘Tiger Head’ varsity jacket is a different style from the one he was recently seen wearing, but when you really look at the outfits as a whole, not much has truly changed between the 2008 and 2011 Kanye; he’s gotten a haircut and wears slimmer pants. • Kanye Wears Ralph Lauren Polo ‘Tiger Head’ Varsity Jacket
3 CommentsKanye West was recently spotted in LAX yesterday afternoon wearing a vintage ‘Tiger Head’ varsity jacket from Ralph Lauren’s Polo Sport collection. I’m not exactly sure when this varsity jacket was released, but by doing a quick eBay search, it seems like a single seller is offering a similar piece. The varsity jacket on eBay has an identical tiger head on the back and the exact same knit collar, wristband, and waistband trims. The only noticeable difference is that the the Polo varsity jacket on eBay has ‘POLO’ across the chest, while Kanye’s version does not (actually, if you look closely, you can see a faint ‘O’ and ‘L’ as if the stitching was removed). Along with this varsity jacket, Kanye also wore Balmain waxed jeans and Air Jordan ‘Infrared’ 6 shoes.
