• Make Her Say Music Video Outfit
14 CommentsThe music video for Kid Cudi’s Make Her Say, featuring Kanye West and Common, was released yesterday after much anticipation from many fans. The video was directed by Nez Khammal and features a horizontal split screen for more of an abstract illusion. Although the music video is actually pretty simple, the presence of these 3 artists and the overall message in the song is essentially what makes the video. Kanye’s shot took place in Los Angeles and wore the black flat-top Super sunglasses from RETROSUPERFUTURE, a green Army-like jacket, khaki pants (or khaki-colored denim), and wheat-colored 6″ Timberland boots.

1 CommentWhen it comes to music videos and presentation, Kanye West is always on point. Whether it be the storyline, effects, or his outfit in the video, he never seizes to amaze viewers. The music video for Beyonce’s current single “Ego” features Kanye in a suit that complements the entire black/white theme of the video, while also wearing a pair of the white Mr. Hudson, 1 of 2 low-top sneakers he designed with Louis Vuitton. He’s also wearing the black flat-top style sunglasses by RETROSUPERFUTURE, which has been his prime choice for sunglasses several months now. It’s a nice, clean monotonic outfit that could be worn at work or even in the club. Here are screen shots from the video:

Everything from brand synergy, coordination, and presentation; Kanye’s got it down to a science. Details magazine recently featured Kanye where he breaks down his 10 fashion essentials, which includes items like the Nike Air Yeezy, flat-top sunglasses by RETROSUPERFUTURE, and RRL jeans.

13 CommentsWhile on set for the music video shoot of the Clipse’s ‘Kinda Like a Big Deal, Emeka Obi (10 Deep), was able to take this photo of Kanye West. This all black outfit from Kanye is very appropriate because he’s just killing it right now. The black Jesus piece, the Flat Top sunglasses by RETROSUPERFUTURE, and the black collaboration sneaker, Jasper’s (appropriately named after Ibn Jasper), he did with Louis Vuitton. This proves one’s outfit can significantly be comprised of a monotonic color and still fail to deter attention.

10 CommentsIf you have been following the Dress Like Kanye West blog, or any other fashion/ Streetwear blog, it would be apparent that the majority of the sneakers Kanye West has been wearing have either been the Nike Air Yeezy or the collaboration sneakers he did with Louis Vuitton. What almost always becomes overlooked are the sunglasses he wears with each outfit. As far back as the release of 808s & Heartbreak in November, Kanye has been seen wearing an array of the Super sunglasses from the up and coming Italian brand RETROSUPERFUTURE. Kanye is known for his taste in classic, retro-style sunglasses and it is no wonder that the Super sunglasses have been his prime choice for 2009.
