• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wears Pastelle Hoodie
No CommentsAfter Kanye West debuted his womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week last Saturday, it brought back memories of all that could have been with his first foray into fashion—Yeezy’s now-defunct Pastelle clothing line. After promising pieces that included varsity jackets, button-up shirts, and hoodies were previewed, Kanye decided to put a surprising halt on the production of Pastelle in late 2009. His clothing never hit retail shelves, but fans were able to get a glimpse of his brilliance in fashion through collaboration projects with Nike, Louis Vuitton, and M/M (Paris). In looking back at Pastelle, this month’s Turn Back Thursday takes us to Paris Fashion Week 2008 where Kanye was spotted front row at the Dior fashion show wearing a full-zip Pastelle hoodie.

October 6th, 2011• Kanye to Show Womenswear Collection at Paris Fashion Week
No CommentsKanye West is officially set to present his upcoming Spring/Summer 2012 womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week on October 1. His show will immediately follow Jean Paul Gaultier. Specific details of his line, such as the name and design direction, are still under speculation. Though it will be his first time showing at Fashion Week, this is not Kanye’s first foray into fashion. In 2009, he teamed up with Louis Vuitton and Nike to create his very own shoe, and prior to that, he founded the now-defunct Pastelle clothing line in 2008.

September 15th, 2011• Kanye Wearing Ambush Ring
13 CommentsIf there’s one piece of jewelry that has become a staple to Kanye’s style, it is definitely his black Jesus piece. However, during this year’s Paris Fashion Week, it seems as though he opted to keep it at home and trade the neck-wear for a new accessory. Kanye is seen below wearing the “Eye Am Not Alone” gold ring from Tokyo-based brand Ambush. If you’ve seen the photos of Kanye at the fashion shows he’s attended the past couple of days, you’ll notice this specific ring with the 2 gold pyramids, but this is the first close-up shot of the accessory. Ambush was co-founded by Verbal from the Teriyaki Boyz, who Kanye has worked with in the studio in the past. The “Eye Am Not Alone” ring retails for $210 and can be purchased at Ambush retailers.

• Kanye and Pharrell at Lanvin Fashion Show
12 CommentsOne of the best things about a major event like Paris Fashion Week is seeing all the creative individuals that attend and appreciate the fashion and craftsmanship that is displayed before their eyes. Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, two of the music industry’s most influential men when it comes to fashion, were both in attendance at the Lanvin fashion show today. Interestingly enough, these two went up against each other in round 4 of Complex’s Style War several months back, where Kanye ended up the victor. At the Lanvin fashion show, Kanye wore Lanvin “Way Shiner” sunglasses, which are the ones he’s been wearing since he’s been at Paris Fashion Week, black Balmain jeans featuring 2 front zip pockets, and Hermes high-top sneakers constructed of their popular crocodile leather.

• Kanye Wearing Christian Louboutin Rollerball Loafers at Paris Fashion Week
13 CommentsDuring the second day of Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West and Amber Rose were spotted at several shows that debuted the Autumn/Winter 2010 collections for luxury brands such as Junya Watanabe, Yves Saint Laurent, and Kris Van Assche. Similar to the previous day’s outfit at the Louis Vuitton show, Kanye went for a basic look yet again, with one item to make the rest of the outfit stand out. First, it was the fur coat and now it’s the Christian Louboutin Rollerball loafers. The French luxury brand loafers are surrounded by metal studs and were released as part of their fall 2009 collection. The Christian Louboutin Rollerball loafers can be purchased online at Saks Fifth Avenue for $995.
