• Amar’e Stoudemire Spotted in Nike Air Yeezys
No CommentsNew York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire was recently spotted in Shanghai wearing the Nike Air Yeezy shoes in the net/net (tan) colorway. The Kanye West and Nike collaboration shoe was released back in 2009 as the final release in the Air Yeezy trifecta. Amar’e and several other Nike athletes including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Tyson Chandler, and Paul Rodriguez are currently overseas for Nike Festival of Sports 2011.

• Jim Jones Disses Kanye and the Air Yeezy
15 CommentsJim Jones spoke to Complex magazine about sneakers and how they were so influential to his life growing up. He mentioned everything from the Adidas Shell-toe to Nike Cortez to the Puma Clyde. At about the 2:30 mark in the video, he says, “There’s a lot of cornballs with their own sneaker that I would never ever wear…” and at the very end he states, ” I have more than a hundred pairs of sneakers, but I didn’t wanna have nothing to do with those,” as the interviewer holds up a pair of the net/net (tan) Nike Air Yeezy. Not everyone believes the Air Yeezy looks good and Jimmy is entitled to his own opinion, but from Jim Jones’ hustler mentality, he should give Kanye credit for being the first non-athlete to hook up with Nike to do a sneaker.

• Net/Net Nike Air Yeezy Release at Villa
2 CommentsVilla in Cleveland released the net/net (tan) Nike Air Yeezy this past weekend, 2 weeks after the official release date, as a commemoration to their grand opening in the Cleveland area. The 2 week hold-up did not deter any individuals or slow down the hype of the Air Yeezy. Sneakerheads and Kanye West fans lined up several days before the June 20th release to ensure they received the last installment of the Air Yeezy trilogy, which may arguably go down as the most sought-after sneaker in Nike history. Villa is now officially the last retail store to sell the sneaker, so if you missed out, your best bet is to chance your luck on Ebay.

• Net/Net Nike Air Yeezy on NDC
4 CommentsThe net/net (tan) Nike Air Yeezy released on NDC (Nike “Dot” Com) at approximately 10:30 PM PST (I received my order confirmation through e-mail at 10:33 PM PST) on Monday, June 8th. The speculation behind the release of the Air Yeezy on NDC included all sorts of rumors that included the sneaker’s release date/time, availability, and URL link. However, sticking with the pattern of the NDC release for the first two Air Yeezys, the tan pair also dropped at a completely random time, which is normal for a sneaker labeled as a quickstrike release. This NDC release officially marks the end of the collaboration between Kanye West and Nike. Air Yeezy 2? Let’s hope so.

• Niketown SF Air Yeezy Raffle Outcome
7 CommentsYours truly, John, the creator of DressLikeKanyeWest.com entered the raffle at Niketown San Fracnisco this past Saturday, June 6th, and came out as 1 of 28 lucky winners to claim the net/net (tan) Nike Air Yeezy. The line wrapped around the block and was easily 120 people deep. The line consisted of people of all walks of life and even a man in a suit who arrived 2 minutes before the raffle was scheduled to begin won a pair (and soon sold it for a ridiculous amount of money). Overall, the raffle was very well planned and executed and after speaking to one of the employees, expect this same system to be implemented more in the future. Thank you Niketown. Thank you Lucky #732.
