• Yeezi Nameplate Necklace from Dw Fashion Show
2 Comments

When Kanye West debuted his Dw ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday, you might have noticed that every one of the models wore a gold nameplate necklace. This piece of jewelry worn down the runway read “Yeezi” and was appropriately worn by Kanye himself.  Although this is the first time we’ve seen these nameplate necklaces, the nickname “Yeezi” was spotted earlier this year, embellished on a custom Balmain jacket. It’s unknown if this accessory is part of ‘Ye’s Dw Spring/Summer 2012 collection, but if this newfound alias becomes synonymous with his high-end fashion projects, you can count on “Yeezi” to be featured on future pieces.

The second trailer to The Black Mamba, a short film about Kobe Bryant directed by Robert Rodriguez, released yesterday and features Kanye West playing the role of the villian who wants Kobe’s shoes. • Good Wood Black Jesus Piece Significance
6 Comments

With the release of the Good Wood Black Jesus piece at midnight EST on Black Friday, Chris Lee speaks with Time Out New York to talk about the significance of the wooden accessory. Since Chris first previewed the black Jesus piece on his website, CtotheJL, over a month ago, blogs and Kanye fans have been anticipating its availability to the public. Little was known about the release, as it was believed to be an exclusive for a select number of individuals. As Chris states in the video, the black Jesus piece will only be available for a 24 hour period and will never be released again. This is definitely more exclusive compared to Good Wood’s first release, the brown Jesus piece, which was available for pre-order on the Good Wood website for several weeks.

Check out the second photo below of Chris showing the back of the black Jesus piece made for yours truly. Thank you to Chris and the rest of Good Wood for the complementary black Jesus piece!

• Good Wood Black Jesus Piece on Black Friday
2 Comments

The Good Wood black Jesus piece will be available for purchase on the Good Wood online store on Black Friday, November 27th. The piece will retail for $65 and will officially go live on midnight EST for 24 hours. After the 24 hour period passes, it will never be released again. For all those who truly want to “dress like Kanye West”, as this website indicates, go after this accessory. Even though Kanye may not have been the first rapper to wear a Jesus piece, he took it to a whole different level, abandoning gold, platinum, and diamonds, for a solid black Jesus piece that established a cleaner, more subtle appearance.

Several weeks back I showed you the brown and black maple wood Good Wood Jesus pieces that belong to Chris Lee and Joe La Puma, respectively. Although the black Jesus piece is not for sale to the public, the brown piece is available for pre-order and ships November 15. If you’re trying to get your “Dress Like Kanye West” on, this is definitely a staple piece to complete the outfit, as the infamous black Jesus piece is known to be Kanye’s choice of jewelery. What’s better is if you’re trying to pull off a Kanye costume for next year’s Halloween, this Jesus piece will set you apart from all the other Kanyes out there. Here are additional photos of the black Good Wood Jesus piece from Emeka Obi and Marcus Troy.
