• Kanye West Talks Fashion on Twitter
1 CommentYesterday, Kanye West shared the story behind his fashion career on Twitter. As told in his series of tweets, he started off in fashion eight years ago, from turning down initial offers to do urban clothing lines to unsuccessfully begging Bape to do his own line. From there, he told his story of how he got his start in high-end fashion, studying in Europe at famed fashion labels Fendi and Giuseppe Zanotti, and opening his own design studio in Paris. He also shared that at Nike, he’s “allowed” to design one pair of sneakers every two years, meaning the “Yeezi 3″ that he mentioned last week would be due out in 2014. Below are the tweets from last night.

• Kanye Confirms Fashion Internship at Fendi
1 CommentWhile on the air with Angie Martinez on New York’s Hot 97 radio station, Kanye West discussed a variety of topics that included his upcoming album, Amber Rose, and his overall state of mind since the passing of his mother. A brief topic of conversation was Kanye’s internship role at Fendi while staying in Rome. He didn’t get into details of his work responsibilities, but mentioned a routine of “going to work, walking to work, getting cappuccinos” while interning at the Italian luxury brand. Kanye’s idea of being a fashion intern was revealed back in late 2008 just after the release of 808s & Heartbreak, and there were even talks of a possible Kanye and Fendi collaboration. Hearing it straight from the source confirms many of the speculations from the past two years.
Listen to part 1 of the radio interview at the 5:50 mark for the conversation about Kanye’s internship at Fendi.

• Kanye West x Fendi Collaboration
6 CommentsAs many of you may have noticed, Kanye West has been out of the media spotlight for quite sometime since the incident with Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs. Several weeks back, he was actually photographed with girlfriend Amber Rose exploring the streets of Rome where he’s apparently performing fashion research and meeting with designers for upcoming projects. Daniel Lindström, Fashion Director for Swedish-based magazine Cafe, did a brief interview with Kanye at an event for photographer Thomas Klementsson (below). In the interview, Kanye mentions a collaboration with Italian luxury brand Fendi and new colorways for his Louis Vuitton shoe.
