• Kanye West’s Sneakers Backstage at Watch the Throne Tour
5 Comments

For the past month, VOYR has provided exclusive backstage footage of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch the Throne tour. Before the start of the duo’s concert, VOYR even shared a video on their website that showed someone skating in a pair of the black/pink Air Yeezy 2. In episode 1 of their concert documentary, “World Leaders,” there is a scene where you can see an array of what we can only assume are Kanye’s sneakers. Even though we’ve only seen ‘Ye wearing the black/pink Air Yeezy 2s on stage during the concert, you can see in the screenshot gray Air Yeezy 2s, Timberland 6″ wheat boots, white cement Air Jordan 3s, and the Louis Vuitton Don collaboration shoes.

• Kanye West’s Greatest Footwear Moments via Complex
No Comments

Kanye West’s eclectic shoe collection is highlighted in Complex’s recent “Yeezy Does It: Kanye West’s Greatest Footwear Moments” story. In the 75-picture gallery that shows outfits as far as 2003, Kanye can be seen wearing shoes from a wide variety of brands like Asics, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Timberland, and Vans. Looking through the slideshow of images, it’s interesting to note the year and type of sneakers Kanye’s got on. Early in his career, he wore a wide selection of styles from a multitude of brands, while in more recent years, he’s stuck to Nike Air Yeezys, Air Jordans, his Louis Vuitton collaboration shoes, and a small amount of other European-based brands. All of the outfits are pre-Rosewood Movement, so you won’t find any images of Kanye in hard-bottom dress shoes or Stubbs & Wootton loafers, which have been his preferred shoes as of late. Take a stroll through memory lane and check out Complex’s feature on Kanye’s shoes.

• Kanye Wearing Air Jordan “Grape” Spizike
5 Comments

Following up from Kanye’s outfit at the “Stay in School” benefit  concert in Chicago this past Tuesday, photos from the aftermath of the show reveal that he was also wearing Air Jordan “Grape” Spizike sneakers.  Among its design features include the infamous cement print, custom lacelocks, a number 23 hit on the heel, a perforated upper, and a grape sole. The grape Spizikes were released back in late March of this year and had a retail price of $175. Although many sneaker heads have a love/hate relationship when it comes to Jordan Spizikes, it appears to be Kanye’s sneaker of choice since his return to the public eye. He wore the black/cement/red Spizikes just a few weeks back.
