• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye x Clot x Fragment x Base Control T-shirt
No CommentsIn 2006, when Kanye West’s “Touch the Sky” tour hit Hong Kong, a special collaboration t-shirt that included brands Clot, Fragment, and Base Control was created specifically for the show. Appropriately enough, the artist who opened for Kanye, Edison Chen, is the owner of the Hong Kong-based brand Clot and has worked with other reputable brands that Kanye has associated with, such as Bape and Nike. The t-shirt features the infamous Dropout Bear logo in between Clot and Fragment’s logo. Below is a photo of Kanye wearing the collaboration t-shirt.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing LRG Dead Serious Hoody
No CommentsFor June’s edition of Turn Back Thursday, Kanye is seen wearing the red LRG “Dead Serious” hoody from winter 2006. Fetching upwards of $400 on Ebay and other marketplaces, the LRG hoody features a gold full-zip, mesh eyes, and a front and back skeleton print. These days, it would be rare to find Kanye wearing such an extravagant hoodie, but back in 2006, all-over print, full-zip hoodies were definitely a staple piece of the entire street wear fashion scene.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing Red Nike SB Supreme Blazer
No CommentsBefore the Nike Air Yeezy hype, there was the Nike SB Supreme Blazer in 2006. A collaboration sneaker between New York-based brand Supreme and Nike, this particular sneaker, similar to the Air Yeezy, resulted in multi-day campouts and commanded astronomical resale prices on sneaker forums and Ebay. With the Nike Blazer as the silhouette, there were three colorways released- red, black, and white. Here’s Kanye West rocking the red Supreme Blazers in 2007. Not entirely shocking, seeing as we’ve already seen Kanye wearing Supreme back in 2003.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing Original Fake “Chomper” Scarf
8 CommentsFor this month’s edition of Turn Back Thursday, we bring you back to 2007. Kanye was definitely living the good life with his then-fiance, Alexis Phifer, and enjoying the success of his third solo album, Graduation. In this photo, Kanye is wearing the Original Fake “Chomper” scarf at the Yamamoto fashion show as part of Paris Fashion Week. The owner of the Japanese brand, KAWS, worked with Kanye to design the special edition album cover for 808s & Heartbreak, so Kanye has always shown his appreciation for KAWS’ body of work with fashion and art.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing Fucking Awesome Hoodie
1 CommentAs always, the first Thursday of the month brings Turn Back Thursday where we highlight a vintage Kanye West look. Here’s a photo of Kanye from 2007 wearing a Fucking Awesome all-over print hoodie at an Apple retail store. When the entire streetwear movement took off in ‘06 and ‘07, a staple piece that most up-and-coming brands had to release was the infamous all-over print hoodie. This particular hoodie from the Los Angeles-based Fucking Awesome was arguably one of the most coveted pieces during the height of streetwear. Also, behind Kanye is his road manager Don C. wearing a sample t-shirt from Kanye’s now-defunct clothing line, Pastelle.

4 CommentsThe first Thursday of the month brings another edition of Turn Back Thursday. Check out this 2006 photo of Kanye West wearing the Kiser x A-Trak collaboration “Sunglasses is a Must” t-shirt. Sure, it may be 2010 where it seems like every brand and individual is going for a more timeless and classic aesthetic, but I’m sure many of the Kanye fans and fashion fanatics know that, in 2006, it was all about all-over print t-shirts and bandanas.
