• Kanye West Scans from XXL’s October Issue
8 CommentsEven though Kanye West’s 40-page spread in XXL’s October issue is due out tomorrow, September 28, scans from the magazine have already surfaced. The feature consists of interviews and black and white photos of Kanye and his G.O.O.D. Music artists, all of whom are appropriately representing the Rosewood Movement with black suits and ties. With Kanye serving as the creative director of the spread, he took advantage of the opportunity to represent his newfound movement in the right way with pieces like a black slim-fit suit, knit tie, peacoat, fedora hat, wayfarer-style sunglasses, and Dries Van Noten shoes. On the cover of the Hip-Hop magazine, Kanye is wearing his Horus chain and black Wayfarer-style sunglasses. In the special collector’s issue where Kanye served as the creative director for the 40-page feature, he discusses topics that include the Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 VMAs and his own personal growth from the past year. With Kanye at the helm of a 40-page feature, there promises to be great content filled with memorable quotes and profound images.

8 CommentsIn keeping up with their top 100 lists, Complex has put together a list of style trends that ruled the decade. The Top 100 Style Trends of the 2000s showcases fashion trends that shook pop culture and influenced the masses. Now, I haven’t actually had the chance to look through the entire list, but there are definitely trends on the list that Kanye West either spearheaded or was at least notorious for.

• Kanye Clothing in the “Forever” Video
4 CommentsIf you’ve ever seen the “Forever” music video that features Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, several questions may have been running loosely through your head. Why is Lebron James the star of this video? Did Kanye really get the nod for the best verse? Is that Slaughterhouse behind Eminem? Why is Lebron James the star of this video? Despite such head-scratchers, it doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s quite a good song that not only displays 4 different rapping techniques, but also 4 different fashion styles. Complex has covered the fashion side of the music video, putting together individual outfits that resemble what Drake, Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Eminem wore in “Forever”.

• Air Yeezy Upper Design Process
No CommentsBack in March, prior to all the Nike Air Yeezy hysteria and official release dates, Complex had an Air Yeezy gallery which included photos that revealed the evolution of the Air Yeezy sneaker. The photos revealed the original sketches and initial plans that Kanye West and the Nike team had put together throughout the planning stages of the collaboration. Now, as the 3 releases have long passed, Sole Collector shares with the public (never before seen) behind-the-scenes photos of the making of the Air Yeezy upper. Aside from its glow in the dark sole, the Air Yeezy’s upper is definitely a “neck breaker” and something to marvel at. Inspired by the McFly sneaker/silhouette, Kanye envisioned his shoe to have a retro appeal with a luxury twist.
