• Amar’e Stoudemire Spotted in Nike Air Yeezys

New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire was recently spotted in Shanghai wearing the Nike Air Yeezy shoes in the net/net (tan) colorway. The Kanye West and Nike collaboration shoe was released back in 2009 as the final release in the Air Yeezy trifecta. Amar’e and several other Nike athletes including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Tyson Chandler, and Paul Rodriguez are currently overseas for Nike Festival of Sports 2011.

• Will Kanye Wear the Air Yeezy 2 During the ‘Watch the Throne’ Tour?

The dates for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne tour were recently announced. Could the Air Yeezy 2 be making an appearance at the 24 scheduled concerts? You may remember that in 2008, Kanye rocked some sample Air Yeezys onstage during the entire ‘Glow in the Dark’ tour, and the shoe was released in stores a year later. Rumors have been circulating that the Air Yeezy 2 shoes will drop on Black Friday in November, giving sneakerheads a little over a month to deliberate over the look of the shoe if in fact ‘Ye wears them on stage. The Watch the Throne tour kicks off in Detroit on September 27.

• Air Yeezy 2 in Watch The Throne Documentary

The Air Yeezy 2 made a brief appearance in the Jay-Z and Kanye West documentary for Watch The Throne. In the mini-documentary, Kanye is seen working on a template of what looks like the Air Yeezy 2 on Adobe Photoshop. On the screen, you can clearly see the strap of the shoe and the pink lining. There’s been rumors that the Air Yeezy 2 releaste date is set for Black Friday in the U.S. as well as speculations that the shoe will be available in a total of five colorways — three to be released in the U.S., one for the Europe release, and one for the Asia release. Watch The Throne is set to drop digitally on August 8 and in stores on August 15.

• Will There Be Five Air Yeezy 2 Colorways?

It’s only fitting that additional Air Yeezy 2 rumors emerge following a week where a photoshopped Air Yeezy 2 photo made its rounds throughout sneaker blogs. According to Nice Kicks (via sneaker aficionado Shoe Wolf), there will be a total of five Air Yeezy 2 colorways — three will be released in the U.S. and one unique colorway each for Europe and Asia retailers. There has been no additional information about the Air Yeezy 2 price or release date, but a possible worldwide release of five colorways just makes it that much more interesting for diehard sneaker collectors.
