• Air Yeezy on 100 Best Sneakers of the 2000s

With all the hype and astronomical aftermarket prices that the Nike Air Yeezy commanded during the 3 consecutive months of each colorway’s release, it was only right that the shoe found its way on Complex Magazine’s 100 Best Sneakers of the 2000s list. The Air Yeezy,  a collaboration between Kanye West and Nike, was #5 on a list that included some of the most sought-after shoes that have been released in this decade. Some of the shoes that joined the Air Yeezy in the top 10 included the Nike Dunk SB Tiffany, Nike Dunk SB Jedi, Air Max 90 Bacon, and the UNDFTD Air Jordan IV.

• Grammy Air Yeezy Auction Photo Details

If you plan on bidding on the size 12 Nike Air Yeezy sneakers that Kanye West wore at the 2008 Grammy’s, it’s only fair to evaluate the product that you’re going to be spending money on. Here are detailed photos of the Grammy Air Yeezys that Kanye actually wore and the custom wooden box that will house the shoe. The black leather, Y-lacelock, glow in the dark Air Jordan 3-inspired sole, and overall silhouette of the Grammy Air Yeezy is comparable to the 3 Air Yeezys that were released to the general public several months back. The only noticeable difference is that the Grammy Air Yeezy contains no Y-print anywhere on the shoe. The Zen Gray had the Y-print on the toe-box and strap, the Net/Net Yeezy only had the Ys on the toe-box, and the Black/Pink Yeezy had the Y-print across the back of the shoe and strap. Nonetheless, it’s a truly remarkable 1 of 1 shoe that would be a great addition to any collection and best of all, the auction proceeds will benefit the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

• Air Yeezy Doernbecher Charity Auction

In the past few weeks, Chi Mcbride and Mark Smith have revealed exclusive Nike Air Yeezy shoes as part of the Doernbecher Charity Auction. The first preview revealed was for the size 12 Air Yeezy Grammys that Kanye West wore at the 2008 Grammy Awards. The second preview they revealed was an Air Yeezy sample with a Jordan 6 sole. Both pairs are 1 of 1 samples and will surely become a great addition to any sneakerhead’s shoe collection. The auction has already gone live on Ebay for both shoes and will end 1 week from today, Saturday, September 19, at 7:30 PM PST. Support this great cause and obtain these rare Yeezy shoes while you’re at it.

• Nike Air Yeezy With Jordan 6 Sole

Several weeks back, Chi Mcbride and Mark Smith revealed the plans to auction off the original Nike Air Yeezy that Kanye West wore at the Grammy’s in 2008, labeled as the Grammy Air Yeezys. Now, the duo is back to reveal another 1 of 1 original pair that will also be on the auction block to support the Doernbecher Foundation. Up for grabs is an all black Nike Air Yeezy with an Air Jordan 6 sole. In the video below, Smith reveals that the sample was never even presented to Kanye during the production of the Air Yeezy shoe.

What does everyone think about the Air Yeezy with a Jordan 6 sole? I personally don’t like it, but that’s only because I’m a big fan of the Jordan 3 shoe and the final Air Yeezy implemented the Jordan 3 sole.

• Who Wore it Better- Air Yeezy Edition

Complex is conducting a “Who Wore it Better?” poll to determine who rocked Kanye’s Nike Air Yeezy signature shoe better, Tristan Wilds, Lil Waye, or Soulja Boy. These 3 celebs were specifically chosen because they blended classy, grown man outfits with a sneaker that just screams attention and is the opposite of everything that represents “getting your grown man on.” I don’t know how everyone else feels, but if I think Lil Wayne surely beats Tristan and Soulja Boy. There’s just something about wearing baggy pants with Yeezys that doesn’t look right, and Lil Wayne, at least in this picture, does a pretty good job making sure everything in his outfit is proportional and that all the pieces complement one another. How does everyone else feel?

• Sole Collector Air Yeezy Covers

The latest cover of Sole Collector, Issue 29, will feature 2 different designs– one will have the original black Nike Air Yeezy atop a wooden box with laser designs and the other will be a high-quality, detailed shot of the pink Air Yeezy lacelock. This is the same exact Air Yeezy  sneaker that Kanye West wore at the 2008 Grammy Awards, as he paid tribute to his late mother, Donda West. The sneaker will be up for grabs as part of the Doernbecher Charity Auction where one lucky bidder will be able to take the original, 1 of 1 pair home. Correct me if I’m wrong, I do remember him wearing these sneakers at the Grammys, however, I do not recall them having lacelocks. But I digress, it’s a great sneaker and I only wish the 3 Air Yeezys that came out several months ago had this type of leather material.
