• Kanye Clears Up “Face” Watch Rumors
1 Comment

Last week, several blogs reported that Kanye West commissioned a timepiece company to customize a watch encrusted with a design of his very own face on the dial. The luxury piece was rumored to have been valued at $180K with several white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds on the watch. Upon hearing the news, I was hesitant to believe that there was any truth in the report and decided not to cover it on the blog. For someone who possesses as much taste in style, luxury, and fashion as Kanye, it just didn’t seem like a fashion move that he would make. Earlier this week, Kanye cleared up the story on his Twitter account, denying the rumors and stating that a company tried to give him a watch with his face on it 9 years ago. For the record, now that this rumor has been addressed, I think it’s only right to mention that Kanye has worn two types of watches in the past couple of years – Casio G-Shock and Rolex watches.

• Kanye Wearing Cartier ‘Vitesse’ Sunglasses
4 Comments

Last night, Kanye West performed at the Bowery Ballroom in New York to a sold out show where some audience members even paid upwards of $100,000 for a pair of tickets. Kanye performed tracks off of his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, with a star-studded lineup of guest appearances that included the likes of Nicki Minaj, Swizz Beatz, John Legend, and Bon Iver. At the show, Kanye wore Cartier ‘Vitesse’ sunglasses, a gray henley top, a trench coat with gold buttons and a baroque-style print, destroyed denim jeans, and black Stubbs & Wootton loafers. The ‘Vitesse’ sunglasses were released back in 1991 and were part of the French brand’s Must de Cartier collection.  A notable feature includes the 18k gold placed on the bridge, temples, and ear paddles of the sunglasses. Read more to watch footage of Kanye at Bowery Ballroom and view photos (props to Kirill) of his performance and the Cartier sunglasses.

• Horus Chain Replica on Ebay
3 Comments

A replica of the Horus chain that Kanye West wore at the BET Awards 2010 is now up for auction on Ebay. It was only a matter of time until the $300,000 necklace created by Jacob & Co. was imitated and made available for purchase to the public, as was the case with Kanye’s black Jesus piece. The replica Horus chain is obviously not worth anywhere near the value of the authentic piece of jewelry, but solely judging by the photos on the auction, there appears to be a level of attention to detail. The chain has a length of 22″, the Horus pendant measures 2″ x 2″, and the entire necklace weighs 1.5 lbs.

• Kanye Wearing Horus Chain and 4-Finger Pyramid Ring
2 Comments

Kanye West was recently seen at the “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” exhibition in New York wearing his Horus chain and 4-finger pyramid ring. In the photograph, Kanye is seen to the right of a golden canopic chest where King Tut’s great-grandmother, Tjuya, lays. It was confirmed last week that the Horus chain and 4-finger pyramid ring were created by Jacob & Co. and valued at $300,000 a piece.

• Kanye’s Horus Chain and 2-Pyramid Ring by Jacob & Co.

Three days after Kanye West’s performance at the BET Awards 2010 and the internet is still buzzing over his Horus chain and 2-pyramid ring. The 24k yellow gold pieces of jewelry were created by Jacob & Co.’s Jacob the Jeweler and are valued at $300,000 a piece. If Kanye’s jewelry game and leading single “Power” are any indication of what to expect with his upcoming album “Good Ass Job,” I think it is safe to say that he is back strong ready to take aim at all his critics and doubters.
