Following the chronicle of his fashion career, Kanye West also announced on Twitter that he will be starting a design company called DONDA. Naming the company after his late mother, Donda West, Kanye stated that he would be assembling a team of “amazing thinkers”—including architects, designers, writers, app guys, doctors, teachers and more—to create “over 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford.” Though no further information on DONDA has been confirmed, Kanye revealed one project that is set to be released this year, a “seven-screen experience” titled “2016 OLYMPIC’s.”

Yesterday, Kanye West shared the story behind his fashion career on Twitter. As told in his series of tweets, he started off in fashion eight years ago, from turning down initial offers to do urban clothing lines to unsuccessfully begging Bape to do his own line. From there, he told his story of how he got his start in high-end fashion, studying in Europe at famed fashion labels Fendi and Giuseppe Zanotti, and opening his own design studio in Paris. He also shared that at Nike, he’s “allowed” to design one pair of sneakers every two years, meaning the “Yeezi 3″ that he mentioned last week would be due out in 2014.
