As reported earlier, Kanye West performed tonight at the Party in the Garden event at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Kanye dressed it down by rocking a gray zip hoody, plain white t-shirt, distressed jeans, and high-top sneakers. Based on the white drawstring and white tape on the hoody’s zipper, we suspect he’s wearing the Salt and Pepper Zip Hoody by American Apparel in the peppered gray colorway. The hoody, a popular “Top Rated” item at American Apparel, is available on the AA online store for $48.

Kanye West is currently at The Museum of Modern Art in New York performing at the Party in the Garden event. Several attendees have tweeted photos of his performance and it looks like Kanye’s wearing the Salt and Pepper style American Apparel hoody (based on the white tape on the hoody’s zipper), a white t-shirt, and distressed jeans that could possibly be the Balmain jeans he’s worn in the past. We’ll keep you posted with clearer photos that surface as the night goes on.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye in the Izzo (H.O.V.A.) Music Video

It should come as no surprise that Kanye West was down with the Roc years before his debut album The College Dropout was released in 2004. He laced Rocafella artists Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z with beats at the turn of the millenium. In fact, the man was responsible for about a third of the production on Jay-Z’s acclaimed Blueprint album. He even made a (small) guest appearance in the Izzo (H.O.V.A.) music video in 2001 wearing a camo San Diego Padres baseball jersey that was partially tucked in on the front to show off a large belt buckle. This is a rare shot of Kanye actually wearing a jersey, and this look didn’t last long — he quickly traded them in for what became his signature Ralph Lauren polo shirts in the early to mid 2000s.

• Kanye Wearing a Comme des Garcons Skull Knit Cardigan

Kanye West was spotted wearing a Comme des Garcons skull knit cardigan at the VIP Room Theater in Paris with artists Jean Roch and R. Kelly. Although an official product shot of this cardigan cannot be located, I was able to track down a Comme des Garcons sweater with an identical skull print and colorway. The sweater is from the Japanase brand’s Spring 2011 ‘Skull Collection’ and is constructed of 100% wool.

• Buy the Kanye West x M/M (Paris) Silk Scarves

Back in March, we reported that Kanye West teamed up with design firm M/M (Paris) to create a line of collector’s edition scarves inspired by George Condo’s album artwork for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. With a series of designs featuring Condo’s paintings, the first half of the collection will be available starting Monday, May 9 at the M/M (Paris) website and colette, Paris for approximately $370. Only 100 scarves for each design will be made, with a total of five editions: “Power,” “Phoenix,” “Face,” “Priest,” and “Ballerina.”
