• Kanye West Attends the 2011 French Open

Kanye West has been making the most of his time in France the past few weeks—attending the Cannes Film Festival, pulling up at the amfAR Gala in a $1.5 million Benz, and kissing models on balconies.  Yesterday, he attended the 2011 French Open between Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro. Looking on as Djokavic defeated del Potro, Kanye wore a full-zip hoody and black sunglasses—his most casual outfit overseas since his arrival in France. Even though it’s difficult to tell the brand of the hoody, it features a zipper that extends around the lining of the hood—a style made popular by A Bathing Ape in 2005 during the advent of the all-over print hoody craze.

• Kanye Wearing Vans x Ludwig Van Collaboration Sneaker

As we reported on Thursday, Kanye West’s assistant art director Virgil Abloh snapped a picture of Kanye wearing what appeared to be a pair of Vans shoes during a trip to the Cannes Film Festival. Based on the shoe’s silhouette, a white tab on the upper, and a black rectangular heel tab, we speculated that it could be either the Authentic or Era model. A reliable source who lives in Paris saw Kanye up close wearing the shoes, and confirmed that it was in fact the Vans Era as part of the exclusive Deadstock Project between Ludwig Van and Vans Vault. Created by Mike Dytri of Ludwig Van, the shoe came in 14 different canvas patterns and a total of 288 pairs were made available worldwide. Kanye’s pair is made up of the ’30s Nostalgia pattern and includes a predominantly black suede upper, white contrast stitching, the famous white Vans tab, and a black “Vault” heel tab. The collection released this past April and retailed for $85.

• Is Kanye West Rocking Vans?

For almost an entire week, Kanye West has been living it up overseas for the Cannes Film Festival, and his assistant art director Virgil Abloh has been documenting fragments of their trip on his Twitter and Tumblr. Earlier today, he posted photos in his signature grayscale style of Kanye wearing what appears to be Vans shoes—either the Authentic or Era model. The shoes he’s wearing have all the makings of the Authentic and Era silhouette along with other notable Vans features like the rectangular heel tab on the back of the shoe and the white Vans tab branding on the upper. Given the similarities that exist between traditional Vans silhouettes and other sneaker brands, it’s also a possibility that these can very well be from another company. What do you think? • Kanye Spotted in a Black Tuxedo at the amfAR Gala in Cannes

Kanye West continued his stay in Cannes today by attending the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala as part of the Cannes Film Festival. At the 17th annual charity event, Kanye was spotted wearing a one-button tuxedo with a black bow tie and the same multi-colored Burkman Bros bracelets that he wore during Coachella. Since his arrival in Paris last weekend, Kanye’s outfits have all included suits and tuxedos—reminiscent of his everyday choice of attire during his Rosewood Movement late last year. At this rate, it looks like that’s going to be Kanye’s go-to outfit at least until the film festival comes to an end this weekend. Satin lapels and hard-bottomed shoes have their time and place, but I think fans would much rather see Kanye stunt in Balmain jeans and Air Yeezy 2 sneakers.

• Kanye Wears White Outfit at the Cannes Film Festival

Kanye West performed today at the Cannes Film Festival in France. As we can see from the tweeted photos by several in attendance, he wore a white blazer, white v-neck t-shirt, white pants, and black shoes. Not quite a Rosewood Movement outfit, but more dressed up than the jeans and hoody he wore at MOMA earlier this week. In the pictures below, he’s performing “Gold Digger” with Jamie Foxx.
