• Kanye West at New York Fashion Week

With New York Fashion Week 2011 underway, Kanye West made his first Fashion Week appearance during the first night of festivities. He was spotted at GQ and CFDA’s event for the Best New Menswear Designers in America Fall 2011 Collections show.  Accompanied by the likes of Aziz Ansari and Kid Cudi, Kanye wore a black leather jacket, Air Jordan 6 shoes, and Cartier “Vitesse” sunglasses. Kanye is no stranger to fashion shows and with many designers set to debut their Fall collections, I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of him in the coming days.

• Kanye West’s VMan Issue 21 Cover Available Today

VMan’s latest issue where Karl Lagerfield photographed Kanye West for the cover, is available today. The cover features Kanye wearing a black suit jacket and black Wayfarer-style sunglasses with money in his mouth. One in 10 covers will feature an actual dollar bill, while the others will simply reveal a hundred dollar bill that is part of the actual photograph for the cover. There are three ways to obtain a copy today:

1. Purchase online on VMan (U.S. – $15,  International – $30)

2. Select newsstands

3. Visit the VMan assembly line to have your magazine prepared for you in person

• The Resurrection of the G.O.O.D Music Jesus Piece

It appears as though the Jesus piece has been resurrected by Kanye’s G.O.O.D music label. New artist, CyHi Da Prynce, recently had his Chaining Day and received a gold necklace, while Kanye has been seen wearing a pair of Jesus pieces in the past several weeks.

The Rosewood Movement and the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy showed Kanye’s newfound preference for suits and hard bottoms. During this time, Kanye essentially put his black Jesus piece on hiatus – when he was seen wearing something around his neck, he kept it modest and subtle with a beaded necklace or thin gold chains without a pendant. His turn away from the Jesus piece seemed to have an influence on other G.O.O.D music artists, such as Big Sean, who started rocking “POW!” necklaces from Japanese label Ambush, and Kid Cudi, who has appeared to have stopped wearing necklaces altogether.

• VMAN Issue #21 Assembly Line

With the February 8 release of VMan Issue 21 that features Kanye West on the cover, the quarterly men’s lifestyle magazine offers a sneak peak at the 3-person assembly line they have created to put together your magazine. For anyone in the New York area, you can swing by the Visionaire Gallery on 11 Mercer Street on February 7 and 8 to have workers prepare your VMan issue by filling Kanye’s mouth with a $1 bill and sealing it in a plastic cover. Already going outside of the box by including a dollar bill on the front of the magazine, the cover takes it another step further by bringing in a special guest photographer, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld.

• Kanye on the Cover of VMAN Magazine

Kanye West covers VMan magazine’s “The Thrill of the Game Issue” where fashion designer and creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld shot the photograph of Kanye. On the cover, Kanye is wearing black wayfarer-style sunglasses and what appears to be a black suit. Always raising the bar and adding his own twist of creativity to every product he delivers, it seems as if several issues will be featuring actual $1 bills placed inside Kanye’s mouth. It isn’t known if all issues will come like this, but the magazine is slated to drop newsstands on February 10. Read more to view the video of the $1 bills being placed inside Kanye’s mouth.
