• Kanye West in The Black Mamba Short Film
No Comments

The second trailer to The Black Mamba, a short film about Kobe Bryant directed by Robert Rodriguez, released yesterday and features Kanye West playing the role of the villian who wants Kobe’s shoes. In the trailer, Kanye is appropriately wearing an all-black outfit consisting of a black blazer over a black t-shirt and black sunglasses. He’s also wearing what appears to be a gold necklace that he’s worn several times in the past that features a nameplate of Arabic characters. Read more to view the trailer and additional photos.

• Kanye Spotted at the Knicks-Heat Game
2 Comments

Kanye West was seen yesterday at Madison Square Garden where the New York Knicks faced the Miami Heat. Similar to my last blog post, Kanye was seen wearing two gold Jesus piece necklaces over a plain black t-shirt – a look that is quite the opposite of the Rosewood Movement. It will be interesting to see Kanye’s outfits over the next couple of months leading up to his new album and even his choice of clothing in the “All of the Lights” music video set to premiere, as this may prove to be the start of a whole new look.

• Kanye Wearing Gold Jesus Piece Necklaces
3 Comments

On Kanye West’s “Two Words,” he rapped, “One neck, two chains.” A line that clearly represented Kanye’s state of fashion and style several years back, when the Louis Vuitton Don had a wide assortment of Jesus piece necklaces. Whether it was diamond encrusted or flat black, Kanye became known for his Jesus pendants and essentially inspired many other artists to follow suit. With his Rosewood Movement and fascination with loafers during the second half of 2010, it appeared that his style had evolved. A fashion evolution that included wearing beaded necklaces and thin gold figaro chains in place of his signature black Jesus piece. Recently, though, Kanye was seen wearing two gold Jesus piece necklaces – a much different selection of jewelry than what he’s worn during the era of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. My personal take is that these two necklaces will become Kanye’s primary choice of jewelry for the next few months. With his collaboration album with Jay-Z set to drop in March, his choice of jewelry and dress will be a representation of the sound and aesthetic of Watch The Throne.

• Kanye Clears Up “Face” Watch Rumors
1 Comment

Last week, several blogs reported that Kanye West commissioned a timepiece company to customize a watch encrusted with a design of his very own face on the dial. The luxury piece was rumored to have been valued at $180K with several white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds on the watch. Upon hearing the news, I was hesitant to believe that there was any truth in the report and decided not to cover it on the blog. For someone who possesses as much taste in style, luxury, and fashion as Kanye, it just didn’t seem like a fashion move that he would make. Earlier this week, Kanye cleared up the story on his Twitter account, denying the rumors and stating that a company tried to give him a watch with his face on it 9 years ago. For the record, now that this rumor has been addressed, I think it’s only right to mention that Kanye has worn two types of watches in the past couple of years – Casio G-Shock and Rolex watches.

• Kanye Signs Air Yeezy Shoes
1 Comment

With all the talk and rumors of a possible Air Yeezy 2 release from Kanye West and Nike, it’s easy to just forget about the original Air Yeezy shoe from 2009. For one lucky fan, though, he made sure to keep his Air Yeezys on-hand when Kanye walked out of a New York hotel last week and signed the fan’s Air Yeezy shoes. In the photo, the fan is holding the black/pink Air Yeezys in his left hand, as Kanye dawns a fur coat and signs the second shoe, the zen gray Air Yeezys.
