How to Get Kanye’s Rosewood Movement Look
August 17, 2010 | Category: High-end Fashion | Author: John
When Kanye West was on Power 105 last week, he explained the concept behind the Rosewood Movement. It goes beyond just throwing on a designer suit and a shiny pair of hard bottoms. The Movement is all about being a gentleman and representing yourself with the utmost class. It’s about “not cursing loud in public, pulling out chairs for your lady, opening up doors, calling your grandmother, and taking care of your kids.” If you don’t agree with the Rosewood mentality and prefer to be a jerk, but look good at the same time, follow this guide to get Kanye’s Rosewood Movement look.

on August 17th, 2010the whole rosewood movement will be in style for a year when kanye’s 5th album drops. after that, when his 6th album is about to drop, he’s gonna come out with a new “trend”. isn’t that what always happens? look at each album he’s released and his style at that point of his life/career. it’s always been different.

on August 17th, 2010@holly: You can get authentic Wayfarers on eBay easily, just limit yourself to sellers who post pics of the actual sunglasses (not stock photos).
@Sean: Very true, but then again dark, slim (not tight/skinny) suits have never really gone “out of style”. So, fortunately for the hypebeasts, this is less “trendy” than most trends to follow. Never hurts to have something for the next formal dinner or interview.

on August 19th, 2010@Jared: I agree. I’m not too big on knit ties and I think a solid, silk tie is more timeless and classic.
@Holly: Yeah, it’s difficult to spend that much on sunglasses. But Max is correct, you can go on a place like eBay or even Urban Outfitters and find sunglasses with a similar style as the Ray Ban Wayfarers for a fraction of the cost.
@Sean: It’s all about evolution. Trends come and go. Think about it from your life. Styles that were in 5 years ago that all your friends were doing are probably not relevant today. That’s essentially what has happened with Kanye the past couple of years.
@Max: That you for reading and addressing some of the comments on my blog!

Kanye at New York's Fashion Night | Dress Like Kanye West - Fashion, Clothing, and Shoes
on September 12th, 2010[...] Kanye West was in attendance at New York’s second annual Fashion’s Night Out event last Thursday, causing absolute pandemonium as he was walking through Manhattan’s SoHo district. A completely different style than what we’ve been accustomed to ever since he introduced his designer suits initiative with the Rosewood Movement. [...]
