• Kanye Wearing Lanvin Lace-up Boots
6 Comments

After several weeks since we’ve last seen Kanye West in Los Angeles during the recording of the “We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” benefit song, he was recently spotted in New York leaving the Black Eyed Peas concert. Although it’s definitely been a long wait, the outfit did not disappoint. Kanye came correct with classic, high-end pieces, wearing a black Louis Vuitton beanie, a black trench coat, and black Lanvin Lace-up boots. This actually isn’t the first time Kanye has worn these boots, as he was also spotted wearing them during Paris Fashion Week late last month. The Lanvin boots are constructed of a leather material and are part of the French luxury brand’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

• The Corporate Dropout T-shirt
2 Comments

Arguably his best album to date, Kanye West’s The College Dropout changed the entire face of rap music. The album RollingStone magazine named album of the decade not only bridged the gap between underground and mainstream Hip Hop, but influenced the lives of many individuals. Tackling subject matters like religion, education, insecurities, and self-esteem, Kanye spoke of the troubles that the average listener could relate to. In commemoration of the album’s 6-year anniversary (February 10), Cincinnati-based clothing boutique Corporate released their own version of the The College Dropout t-shirt last Friday. Corporate’s t-shirt, The Corporate Dropout, features an identical aesthetic to the original design with the use of collegiate-style lettering and the infamous Dropout bear head. Best of all, a portion of the proceeds of the t-shirt sales will be donated to Kanye’s Dr. Donda West Foundation.

• Red Jesus Piece by Good Wood
4 Comments

Adding to their wooden Jesus piece collection, New York-based Good Wood is back at it again to release a red Jesus piece. This piece will be available for pre-order on the Good Wood online store for 72 hours, between February 12 and 14, with a retail of $65. If anyone recalls Good Wood’s black Jesus piece release from this past Black Friday, then you already understand the high demand that these wooden accessories command from consumers. For all the Kanye West fashion fans who missed out on any of previous Good Wood Jesus piece releases, it would be a wise move to jump on this opportunity. Although Kanye was not the first to wear a Jesus piece, he definitely put it back on the map and has made it his signature piece of jewelry.

• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing Fucking Awesome Hoodie
1 Comment

As always, the first Thursday of the month brings Turn Back Thursday where we highlight a vintage Kanye West look. Here’s a photo of Kanye from 2007 wearing a Fucking Awesome all-over print hoodie at an Apple retail store. When the entire streetwear movement took off in ‘06 and ‘07, a staple piece that most up-and-coming brands had to release was the infamous all-over print hoodie. This particular hoodie from the Los Angeles-based Fucking Awesome was arguably one of the most coveted pieces during the height of streetwear. Also, behind Kanye is his road manager Don C. wearing a sample t-shirt from Kanye’s now-defunct clothing line, Pastelle.

• Kanye Wearing Ato Matsumoto “Studs” Shoes
10 Comments

Even though Kanye West was nowhere to be found during the 52nd Grammy Awards, he was in town in Los Angeles to meet with producer Quincy Jones and several other artists to record a remake of the song “We Are the World” for their support towards Haiti relief. Kanye was seen at LAX airport wearing Lanvin “Way Shiner” sunglasses and the Ato Matsumoto Cowhide Boot “Studs”. This isn’t actually the first time Kanye has been seen wearing the high-top Ato Matsumoto shoes as he was seen wearing the red patent leather version in a previous edition of Turn Back Thursday. The white version of the “Studs” is available at the online Japanese retailer Rowage for about $522. In addition to the sunglasses and shoes, Kanye was also carrying his 1-of-1 Goyard “Robot Face” backpack that he designed.
