• Turn Back Thursday: Kanye Wearing Gucci Shaman Moccasins
11 CommentsSome of you may have forgotten all about Turn Back Thursday, but if you recalled, we announced that it would appear on the blog the first Thursday of each month, rather than every Thursday like it used to. We’ve also changed the format so that each Turn Back Thursday post is more concise and focuses strictly on clothing brands and dates.

• Kanye on the Good Wood Jesus Piece
7 CommentsWith all the hype surrounding the black Good Wood Jesus piece, it was only appropriate that it made its way onto Kanye West’s official blog. However, rather than in a positive light, Kanye (or his “ghost blogger”) dismissed Good Wood’s creation altogether with, “This is so bogus! Please don’t support the bootleggers.” Mind you, Kanye’s A&R Plain Pat big upped the Good Wood Jesus piece and the man responsible for creating Kanye’s very own black Jesus piece, Ben Baller, met with Chris Lee from Good Wood to receive his own wooden accessory. Kanye has become such a global icon in the world of fashion, not to mention music, that everything he wears and represents immediately becomes a trend (e.g. popped collars, bright colors, shutter shades, tight jeans, and this specific necklace). With all trends, the emergence of affordable alternatives are presented to the general public so that emulating a certain look does not have to cost an arm and a leg. Through Kanye’s influence and brand power, people want to dress like him and associate themselves with certain trends that he spearheads, but ideally, would like to do so in a financially responsible manner. Hence the reason for the affordable shutter shades at the local mall and hence the reason for the success of these Good Wood Jesus pieces. The consumers who purchased this product from these “bootleggers” are merely trying to show their support and admiration for you, Kanye.

December 3rd, 2009• Ibn Jasper Quintin Hat Inspired by Kanye Shoe
No CommentsAfter all the previews, official product shots of the collaboration between Kanye West’s style consultant/barber Ibn Jasper and Quintin have emerged. The 5 panel cap features design elements that are influenced by the Kanye and Louis Vuitton shoe, the Jasper’s, specifically its suede material, front tassel, and quilted front panel. Both versions of the Ibn Jasper 5 panel cap will be available for purchase on December 15 at RSVP Gallery.

• Blue Good Wood Jesus Piece
9 CommentsWith the successful release of the brown and black Jesus pieces from Good Wood, additional colorways can be expected in the future for all those who have missed out on the first two drops. Joe La Puma, Associate Editor at Complex.com, revealed a blue Jesus Piece on his Twitter, along with a light brown and red piece that were previously seen on Plain Pat. Even though the black piece may arguably be Good Wood’s most sought-after Jesus piece release, there’s no denying that these next 3 colorways will also be a hit. Kanye may stick to his black Jesus piece, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add a little color to the mix.
