For September’s edition of Turn Back Thursday, we bring it back to 2008 when Kanye didn’t have the Rosewood Movement and could be spotted wearing mostly high-end street wear on a day-to-day basis. The images below reveal Kanye wearing a Bape “Sta” hoody with the brand’s distinguished lightning bolt star, typically found on their footwear collection. At this point in ‘08, the all-over print was essentially out of fashion and “played out,” but if there was any brand that could pull off an all-over print on their garments, leave it to the Japanese-based brand. Kanye is wearing an original release below, but since the first Bape “Sta” hoodies dropped, there have been several different versions that have come out, including one with gold-foil print and a city edition where each Bape flagship location sold the hoodie in a unique colorway.

I Got It 4 Cheap will be a new addition to the Dress Like Kanye West blog where we highlight fashion deals and promotions that are relevant to Kanye West’s style. For the first installment, Urban Outfitters currently has the Super Flat Top Sunglasses in matte black on sale for $79.99. With an original retail price of $150, this is a really good deal for quality sunglasses that are handmade in Italy and feature Zeiss lenses. Kanye has worn several different styles from Super in the past and even wore the matte black Flat Tops in Clipse’s “Kinda Like a Big Deal” music video.

Kanye West’s Nike Air Yeezy sneaker has been the influence for a cake design and an airplane model in the past year since its release. Adding to the list of creative work that the sneaker has inspired is an Air Yeezy sculpture created by Mattice Lowery. Unveiled at Kixpo in Texas several weeks back, the full-scale sculpture is modeled after the black/pink Air Yeezys and is constructed entirely of clay. It features great attention to detail on the Y pattern, heel tab, lace lock, strap, and overall silhouette of the shoe. Best of all, just like the actual shoe, the sole on the sculpture glows in the dark. Currently, it is a 1-of-1 work of art, but this would be a great addtion to any sneaker head’s collection, especially for someone that might have missed out on the actual Air Yeezy shoe release.

Horus Chain Replica on Ebay

August 20, 2010 | Category: Accessories | 1 Comment

A replica of the Horus chain that Kanye West wore at the BET Awards 2010 is now up for auction on Ebay. It was only a matter of time until the $300,000 necklace created by Jacob & Co. was imitated and made available for purchase to the public, as was the case with Kanye’s black Jesus piece. The replica Horus chain is obviously not worth anywhere near the value of the authentic piece of jewelry, but solely judging by the photos on the auction, there appears to be a level of attention to detail. The chain has a length of 22″, the Horus pendant measures 2″ x 2″, and the entire necklace weighs 1.5 lbs.

When Kanye West was on Power 105 last week, he explained the concept behind the Rosewood Movement. It goes beyond just throwing on a designer suit and a shiny pair of hard bottoms. The Movement is all about being a gentleman and representing yourself with the utmost class. It’s about “not cursing loud in public, pulling out chairs for your lady, opening up doors, calling your grandmother, and taking care of your kids.” If you don’t agree with the Rosewood mentality and prefer to be a jerk, but look good at the same time, follow this guide to get Kanye’s Rosewood Movement look.

Even though Kanye West has been wearing nothing but designer black suits for the past couple of weeks because of the Rosewood Movement, he can easily switch styles if he desired to because of his versatile sense of fashion. Below is a photo of Kanye wearing Phillip Lim leather shorts that he shared with his followers on Twitter. The brown leather “Stroll” shorts, which feature a pleated front, is made of camel lambskin and is from the Chinese American designer’s spring 2010 collection.
