Even though Kanye West’s second collaboration sneaker with Nike is set to drop next month, we haven’t recently seen ‘Ye himself wearing the shoes. Instead, we’ve seen some of Kanye’s friends like Jay-Z, LeBron James, Don C, and Sean Pecas rocking their early pair of Yeezys in the past weeks. In fact, the last time we saw Kanye in the Air Yeezy 2s was on April 9 when he made a surprise visit to BET’s 106 & Park. But even though we haven’t seen him in his Yeezys in over a month doesn’t mean that he isn’t wearing heat. One of the sneakers he’s been rocking lately is the Nike Air Flight ’89. Kanye wore the white/royal blue colorway courtside at a Heat-Knicks basketball game earlier this month and was even spotted wearing the Air Flight ’89s as recently as yesterday in London. Nike currently has a full-size run available on their online store in the exact colorway that Kanye has worn.

New Image of the Black/Solar Red Air Yeezy 2

After Jay-Z started the work week rocking a pair of the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum Air Yeezy 2s in Philadelphia, here’s a new image that recently surfaced of another individual—presumably Kanye West or one of his friends— in the Black/Solar Red colorway of the Air Yeezy 2. In the photo, you can see details of the sneaker’s solar red lining, mesh toebox, Horus logo on the tongue, and the textured side panels. With only weeks left to go until the rumored release of the Air Yeezy 2s, expect more photos of ‘Ye’s highly-anticipated sneaker to surface.

Global Air Yeezy 2 Release Date

After over a year since we first saw Kanye West rocking the Air Yeezy 2s in The Black Mamba short film, we finally have a release date. Australia’s Laced announced that the official global release date for both Air Yeezy 2 colorways—Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum and Black/Solar Red—will be Saturday, June 9. Laced is one of only three retail stores in Australia that will receive the Air Yeezy 2s and they plan on holding a raffle on the day of the release due to the limited number of pairs on hand. Although Nike has not officially made an announcement regarding a U.S. or global release date, this June 9 release is consistent with the information that Complex received from a Nike spokesperson back in March. Jay-Z Wears Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum Air Yeezy 2

Jay-Z was in Philadelphia this morning to announce that a new two-day music festival will be coming to the City of Brotherly Love. The “Budweiser Made in America” music festival will be curated by Jay-Z and takes place during Labor Day weekend in September. While making the announcements, Hov was rocking a pair of the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers. This is actually the first time we’ve seen him wearing this specific colorway, as we’ve only seen him in the Black/Solar Red Air Yeezy 2s in the past months. LeBron James Wears Air Yeezy 2 Sneakers

LeBron James was seen wearing Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers during the post-game press conference following Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs. Considering that LeBron has become the face of Nike, it should come as no surprise that LeBron was able to receive a pair of Kanye West’s Air Yeezy 2s early. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s developed a relationship with ‘Ye himself over the years. With the likes of Jay-Z, Sean Pecas, Kanye’s inner circle, and now LeBron spotted wearing Air Yeezy 2s, are we getting closer and closer to official news from Nike or Kanye?
